Everyday I'm tumblin'

I have tumblr now! Isn't that exciting... My friend hassled me into setting one up a few weeks ago, but I've only recently got around to properly organising and using it and... bugger. 
It's kinda taking over my internet life. My inner fan-girl just will not let me stop squeeing and loling at all the funny gifs and fandom pics which she just HAS to reblog and add her ever so witty comments to ¬¬ it's not healthy I tell you! But alas, I expect this behaviour will continue for the forseeable future so I shall post the link here http://gbgeek.tumblr.com/ and also on my links page so that you may share in my fangirl joy.

Now, I have to go get ready as I am seeing Avengers for the 3rd time in just over an hour and I can't let Loki see me in my current state.

Hello and welcome.

Hi there. I'm Birdie, a city girl finishing her first year studying linguistics at university, trying to decide whether I can be bothered to get a summer job and already stressing over potential post-graduate programmes. 

I've never written a blog before, so if anyone is actually reading this - my very first post ever! - please bear with me. What I have to say may not be of interest to most people, but I've realised that since I'm lacking in geeky friends (I mentioned The Avengers to one of my best and oldest friends the other day, she replied with "I'm gonna act like I know what that is"... you see my dilema) who are willing to listen to me gush and ramble on about my latest dorky obsession I needed to find some other outlet for my excitement, lest it build up inside me and cause me to explode like Peter Petrelli in the season 1 finale of Heroes... so I started this blog. 

And here it is, complete with mission statement; In this here blog, I, Birdie, will do my best to document the life and exciting times of a geeky young woman, living, studying and, eventually, working in the great and historic city of London. I will share my knowledge of the best shops, events, products and other relative stuff, that I find along my travels. Stay tuned for my first proper bloggy post.
